Fruit Frenzy Bubbles is a bubble-popping game with a fruit farm theme. The player attempts to clear away rows of fruit from different daytime and nighttime countryside and farm backdrops. They also attempt to earn the highest possible score.
The player can only pop fruit bubbles in groups that contain three or more identical ones. Common fruits include apples, blueberries, cherries, lemons, plums and watermelons. The game provides a slingshot shooter instead of a classic arrow, cannon or ring shooter and one fruit projectile per shot. It also displays a preview of the next available projectile.
The player uses a dotted aiming line to target two or more adjacent matching fruit bubbles. When they shoot and finish creating a group, the fruit bubbles pop, and any attached non-matching ones drop in an avalanche. The aiming line is extremely useful because some backdrops feature colors that blend with the fruit colors too much for accurate shots.
Fruit Frenzy Bubbles doesn't have any additional classic obstacles or challenges other than a missed-shot penalty. Whenever the player fails to consecutively create groups at different times, it slides one or more mixed-fruit rows into place at the top of the screen. That said, it fails to give them a method for tracking this process, such as silver, gray or white bubble penalty-pass icons. The player can receive a random penalty at any time.
